Tuesday 10th June - walks **** – Around Ipswich and Felixstowe – sunny periods.

Walk 1 – Around Ipswich.

We were meeting my sister for an appointment at 9.45 in Ipswich to sort out his estate so we left Felixstowe at 8.30 to park up near Holywell to walk through the park and down to the Waterfront! At this point it was cloudy with a brisk westerly wind blowing and we noticed 4 police motorbikes waiting outside the Salthouse Harbour on Neptune Quay and wondered who they were waiting for? Then Mag noticed Kier Starmer leave the hotel and get into the lead Range Rover and we watched the convey leave, we later learned he was going to a local college to talk to youngsters about Sizewell ‘C’ ! We meet up with my sister and the meeting went well before we walked around the corner where we enjoyed a cappuccino with a yummy almond crossant, a sausage roll and a cheese scone at Honey and Harvey speding well over an hour chatting away, Sharons car park bill must have been pretty high! We said our goodbyes, with the sun now out we went to look at the fountain in the Cornhill before returning back down to the waterfront and our brush with celebtaties continues when we spot well know ex-Ipswich Footballer Matty Holland walking to the Salthouse! The men were still taking down the marina pontoons and I got a few nise pics, it looked better with the sun out! It was then back to Holywells Park for more photos and was pleased when Chris Page used on of some park daisies on his pollan forecast and that was after using of on of Mag at Levigton on the afternoon weather, so two in one day! We were knackered on reaching the van after walking well over 4 miles but we still took the scenic route back spotting the Levington deer again, a quick trip down to the marina to see if anyone was sailing, but none so home – top morning!

Walk 2 – Around Felixstowe.

Being Tuesday we walked around to Mary’s for a chat over a cuppa before walking back through the town to the clifftop to see the sea but was pleased to get home as my heel was really playing up which is not surprising as we had walked over 6 miles today!
